TAKE A STEP TOWARDS FAITH

Chandrika_Image

Greetings to my viewers.

Hey, everyone!

Let me introduce myself, I am Chandrika Adikary pursuing GWDD (Graphic Design and Web Development) 2nd semester in Arena Animation, Park Street.

This is my first blog where I will be sharing my experiences related to our recent seminar attended by me. It has been a life-changing lesson for me. Each day I learn something new and interesting and this time I came through a new topic which was “LEAP OF FAITH”.

The seminar took place on 14th December, 2019 in “Thor Lab” with all the GWDD, GWWD+ & DADM students of Arena Animation, Park Street. This is known to be the most valuable seminar for those students who are willing to make their career.

According to the topic , “Leap of Faith” is to believe in something uncertain. And if you take a “Leap of Faith”, you do something even though you are not sure it is right or you will succeed. So, take a Leap of Faith and trust them. The seminar was conducted by our mentor, Mr. Somnath Chakraborty Sir. He has a different personality and doesn’t believe in traditional teaching method. And that’s why he has started training us for the industry, where we have to show our skills.

The seminar started with Mr. Ramesh Ruia Sir’s speech, which motivated us from inside. He shared his personal industrial experiences with us. Through his speech we received many positive vibes. Thank you sir for taking such initiative towards us.

Then the seminar was continued by our very own Somnath Chakraborty Sir. This man is a real genius; he knows how to build a student’s career. Through his lectures he made the students aware about the do’s and don’ts in an interview. He arranged an interactive session, where he asked us to question him, and he gave all the answers in such a manner that made us believe in ourselves. This session also taught me about the importance of Faith, which one has to keep on the mentor to achieve their goal. Sir told us Leap of Faith is not an easy thing, and once you start following it you can’t take your step back. In short, one can keep their faith on someone whom they trust, as it is not an easy process to reach the final goal.

Sir always encourages us to work like a team and trust me guys on the seminar day I came to know what a real team work is called. By the end of the seminar sir arranged two interesting games for us where we were divided into two teams. And that moment taught us the value of bonding. The game had a valuable effect towards everyone because through this entertainment Sir made us recognize the actual meaning of Faith. After attaining this seminar I got very much serious about my career. Such a brainstorming session is an ultimate need for every generation.

Thanks to our respected mentor Somnath Sir who made us explain our worth. Would also like to thank Mr. Ramesh Ruia Sir who gave me this platform where I am getting to learn so many things and also providing us with a lot of opportunities.

Well that’s all for today. Will try to return with some more experiences. Hope you all get motivated through my blog. Thank You.

The Memorable Seminar

IMG20190425134909

Hello readers!

I am Suchona Nandi  pursuing GWDD+ 2nd semester in Arena Animation Park Street. This is my second blog about my first ever seminar attended in Arena Animation Park Street. The theme of the seminar was the “ Leap Of Faith”. The meaning of Leap Of Faith is an act of believing something that is not easily believed. The seminar took place on 14th December,2019 from 1 pm. The students of  GWDD, GWDD+, DADM, & PP(Print & Publishing) participated in the seminar.

Mr. Ramesh Ruia sir gave an introduction speech. He told us the story behind the theme. He shared his own real-life story about a teacher he had in school. That teacher was a gymnastics teacher, who used to make the student jump through a fire ring. He conducted that act for many years, but not a single student ever got hurt. This is because the teacher was reliable and the students used to trust him blindly. This is what leap of faith is when one person can believe another person and do some unbelievable act.

Then Mr. Ramesh Ruia sir told was that he want our Arena Animation Park Street to be a center of excellence so that the student can be fit for every job they get. The thought which pulls us back and does not let us achieve success is that we think we are learning software only. Whereas this should be on our mind that we are learning Graphic Designing or Web Designing with the help of some software. The main thing that sir told us, again and again, is that we need to have a leap of faith on our mentor, this will be the first key to open the box of success. He ended his speech by saying that the students need to work hard, create a center of excellence, and take a leap of faith to achieve his/her goal.

Then our mentor Mr. Somnath Chakrabarty sir came, and he told us that he will divide the proceedings into four parts. The first part was, the students need to ask questions to sir about jobs and interviews and any kind of technical questions. So we all asked questions to sir about every doubt we had regarding interviews and jobs. The second part was more or less the same as the first part, but there was something more, which sir discussed with us. Sir showed us the body language we need to maintain while we are going for an interview. He also showed us what we should not do in an interview. Then he told us how we should be prepared mentally and be confident but not overconfident. The third part of the event was all about the leap of faith agreement. Leap Of Faith Agreement is an agreement where a student needs to take an oath that he/she will take the leap of faith  and will complete his/her work. Then sir selected 5 of our seniors who are capable of taking the Leap Of Faith agreement. The last part of the event was the most interesting one. Sir arranged for two games which were full of fun and lesson. The first game was, there were two teams, one of the team members was blindfolded and a few paper cups were placed on the floor in front of her in a very haphazard manner, and the blindfolded person had to cross the cups without touching it. The directions were given by the leader of the team.  This is a very easy example of a leap of faith because it showed that a blindfolded person had to put each and every small step with the leader’s instructions, and if she does not listen to the leader then she will never be able to achieve her goals.  The next game was with balloons, where two different teams were made, and between each member, a balloon was kept. Now everyone had to move slowly so that not a single balloon falls. This showed that in a team project, every member’s contribution is very important, and if any one fails, the whole team will fail.

As much we enjoyed the game,we learnt very good and effective lessons too. This seminar will always be a very memorable one for me because it taught me a lot of things that will help me to grow and achieve my goals. I am very glad to be a part of this seminar.

Perks of being a APS DADM Student

blog image

Hey everyone! I am Meghna Gupta2nd sem student pursuing DADM (Digital Advertising Design & Marketing) course from Arena Animation, Park Street. Along with this I am doing my B.COM  (bachelors of commerce ) from J.D Birla Institute.

I’m very excited to write this blog as it is the first time ever I’m ever writing a blog. My journey in APS has been beautiful and life-changing. Every day I learn something new and interesting. In this blog I will share my experience about the recent seminar I attended in APS on the topic ‘Digital Marketing benefits in GWDD (Graphic, Web Design and Development).

As interesting as the topic, the seminar was also exhilarating. The seminar was held on 21st June 2019, and was conducted at the ‘Thor Lab’. We all know how marketing has evolved globally by going digital and it has become an important part of every organisation. With India going digital more the concept of digital marketing has come into the picture. The seminar was conducted by my mentor, Somnath Chakraborty Sir. He has a different approach and doesn’t believe in teaching theoretically. He makes us understand everything practically and has always been preparing us for the industry. He explained exactly what is digital marketing and what are the different aspects connected to it and how it is useful in every career and why every firm today needs a digital marketer. He often says, “digital marketing is an ocean”, an ocean of techniques.

A firm requires a digital marketer for it’s promotion, brand building and buying and selling of goods efficiently and many other activities. He made us acquainted with the term “SEM” (Search Engine Marketing) and “SEO” (Search Engine Optimisation) which are major parts of digital marketing.

He further explained the various ways to optimise a website and the factors such as text, content, images, videos and inbound and outbound links affecting the rank of website in a SERP (Search Engine Result Page). We also had the honour of having our centre head, Ramesh Ruia Sir to share his knowledge with us, which was extremely useful. He told us how the population is distributed among X,Y & Z generation and how to hit the right target audience using a right digital platform.

He unfolded the importance of ‘content’ in a digital platform. He said, “At the end everything comes back to the content.” He also gave examples from his own life and what role did digital marketing play and also explained the concept of Google Analytics. Both of their discourse on the topic was very engrossing and enlightening.

Between the seminar, we got a break in which we all classmates seniors and juniors really bonded with each other and had a nice time. The day ended with a relaxing chai and samosa session with my seniors and Somnath Chakraborty Sir.

Thank you APS for arranging this captivating seminar. It made feel that I chose a right career for myself by choosing DADM as my course and made me realise the need for a  digital marketer in the society.

Ajab GWDD Ki Gazab Kahaani

burhan

Hello guys! I am Burhan Mullamithawala from 2nd semester, GWDD, Arena Animation, Park Street.

This is my second blog. I would like to share with you my experience in the past 3 months of coming in the 2nd semester of GWDD, Arena Animation, Park Street and my latest experience in participating in our exhibition Pratibimba2019.

As I shared with you in my last post how I have changed in the last 8 months, only this time I would like to tell how responsible I have become as a person.

Learning HTML language in GWDD has widened my perspective of how little I know about today’s technology. Its vastness blew my mind but it didn’t stop me from taking it as a challenge. Instead I understood its concepts and logic that is to be used while designing a web page. As our mentor Sir Somnath Chakraborty tells us that Web is a vast ocean and it can never be learnt in a limited time. Every day it’s changing and expanding through its boundaries. Only we can do is to keep learning and adapt with it. Currently, I’m progressing in learning this vast language and I have already begun in designing my first webpage for my first GWDD Project. It has been a challenging experience but I have the support of my teacher, my family and my seniors Koushik Dalui, Salina Marandi and Ausmita Pal. Apart from being just seniors, they have become friends as well. We share a great bond and no one could tell that we have a senior-junior relationship.

Coming to Pratibimba2019, it’s an experience that cannot be explained in words. We all worked hard for it to be a success. We made short funny clips where we enacted different roles. I for sure got to see a different side of myself. I got to play Gabbar (Macchar) Singh and it was a fun moment. I also got to see my funny side where I enacted in a funny interview. And that funny side did also come out mainly because of one person, my senior Sattwik Banerjee who played my interviewer. His acting chops are a class apart but more so are his funny gags which made us laugh out loud. We also got to play roles where we were smitten by Tanushree Roy’s playboy character and we ended up having fun due to Koushik Dalui and Sandip Mondal’s hilarious acting.

All our videos were on display for our parents, friends and other esteemed guests to see and we definitely got a great feedback. These videos showed people that our lives just don’t revolve around studies but we also have fun. It showed that we break the monotony of living a robotic life and do something opposite where we end up enjoying and learning from each other. We got to interact with people during the exhibition and it helped us in learning how to present ourselves to different types of crowd.

All in all it was a great experience for me. I learned how to take charge of my life and present myself in front of the camera and people. But all of this would not be possible without the guidance and support of our mentor Sir Somnath Chakraborty. He truly brings out the best in us. He is many a time harsh on us but that is only because he knows our capabilities and he wants us to get out of our comfort zone. He sees a great potential in me and I know I will reach my destination because I have his unconditional support.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Hoping to share more of my experiences in GWDD, Arena Animation, Park Street.

Burhan Mullamithawala , GWDD, 2nd sem,Arena Animation  Park Street

Hey guys! My name is Burhan Mullamithawala and I am a 2nd semester student in GWDD. I know it’s going to be tongue twister for everyone to pronounce my surname but you will soon get a knack of pronouncing it properly.

This is my very first blog which I have written in my life. I would like to give you a sneak peek into these past 8 months in Arena Animation, Park Street.

Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.” – A quote which has changed me for the better in these past months.

I am a B.Tech graduate from Netaji Subhash Engineering College, Kolkata.  Then my mother came to me with this idea about website designing as I had earlier shown interest in my school days. I read through a lot of other job prospects and I found GWDD to be most prospecting, so I joined Arena Animation after careful consideration. After joining Arena Animation, Park Street I saw what I was missing out on after my school days.

During my 1st semester my faculty were Deepak Sir and Sayani Ma’am. They taught me Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Coreldraw very efficiently .They are one of the coolest most supportive teachers I ever got. They helped me in every step of the way. But I didn’t know whom I was going to come across next.

My teachers did say that my 2nd semester is not going to be a walk in the garden as the course was going to get tougher and more over the teacher helming it is someone I have not met in my life before. I hoped for the better and it’s been one month now in my 2nd semester of web designing and I can easily say that I have found a great teacher in Sir Somnath Chakraborty. He is very diligent towards his work and more than that he truly cares for the future of his students. He’s strict when it comes to completing our work but that is only because he wants us to push our boundaries and expand. He has an unconventional way teaching. Something I have seen very rarely in my life. He scolds us with his bizarre eye and hand gestures when we are not concentrating on the things assigned to us by him but he pampers us too with all his love. I have already started making brands for my portfolio and I believe I’ve become more hardworking under his guidance.

I have also attended two seminars till now under Somnath Sir, and they have been very productive for me. He makes sure that each student gets the most out of it and challenges us to ask more questions.

He also tells to us to connect with our seniors for our work issues or any matter that’s riddling us. My seniors Kaushik Dalui and Salina Marandi have guided me in my problems related to my brand and portfolio designing. Mariyam and Annapurna are my classmates and they’ve been very helpful too when I had problems in Adobe Flash. We have become a good team in this past one month. We joke around too which eases mollifies the stress as our Somnath Sir says that bookish, robotic life will not help us in life and we should live a little outside our academic life.

I can easily say that I’m very happy to have joined Arena Animation, Park Street and more so I’m very fortunate to have got such supportive mentors and classmates who are always there to help. I have become more open about my problems and I do not have to look far for their solution anymore.

Thank you for taking the time to read my first blog. I hope to write more in the coming months. Stay tuned!

Woh Zindagi Hi Kya, Jisme Koi Namumkin Sapna Na Ho

Koushik-Dalui

Koushik Dalui, GWDD, 2nd Semester, Arena Animation, Park Street

Hello everyone! This is my first blog where I would like to share my journey so far in GWDD (Graphics Web Designing & Development), 2nd Semester.

The true value of an asset is realized when we lose the asset. As far as I was doing a job I didn’t understand what contribution it had in my life. After working for 5 years in a telecommunication company, I lost the job when the company collapsed, leaving us jobless overnight. I reached a state of null void which seemed endless and infinite. I was clueless about the next steps in my career. But I knew I had to work for my family, not just any work but something where I could give my heart and passion. Since I started working from the college days, I didn’t get time to upgrade any other skills. Thus, I knew at first I have to update my technical skills in a very short span of time. That’s why I went for the suggestion by my brother and took up GWDD in Arena Animation, Park Street.

The reason to take this course was to get a job at the end of it, by any means. Our classes started with first semester. When it started, classes were just for two hours a day, thrice a week, as it should be. I knew my destination but not how to reach the destination. I worked but mostly I spent times with friends, not taking studies seriously. I really miss that life and the fun I used to have. Why? Because now , that life is nothing but a mirage to me.

At the end of first semester i got information that we will be sent to another faculty for 2nd Semester, to the man who was famous for his rude and tough nature, words he used and most importantly, his success in building up a student’s future. His reputation always preceded him. He was none other than Singham ( Somnath Sir). When our whole batch was ready and we had a small session with him. I cannot express what I felt like that day. We all were scared and nervous. Since my communication skills are not so good, I was afraid even more about how I would answer his questions. As the classes started, I took some time to get used to the class timings, working principles and environment. Every second I lived in the threat of getting scolded or committing a mistake. Slowly, sir explained me my faults and analyzed me. He told me to work on important areas and other loop holes I had. He told me to work for myself and not just to complete the syllabus. When I understood why I had to take the pressure or work so hard on my assignments I started working on them wholeheartedly. After spending the whole day in classes I still got home tasks which I had to complete after returning home late night. It became difficult to adjust with the late night working hours and waking up early in the morning. But with time I got accustomed to the new routine and loads of work. Of course, the pressure I took wasn’t for my teacher, my friends or anyone else. It was for me and my bright future. It was for the dream and the battle I was fighting to leave the null void behind and start a new life.

The best part of this semester is the changes I went through. I heard a lot of stories about other’s experiences. Now that I feel them myself, I understood the real taste of it. Sitting in a position for hours wasn’t something I could do before. But now , the coding keeps me engaged for hours and I don’t even realize time passing by. Gradually I learned to calm my mind and think before acting. I learned to organize my thoughts, my life, and also my folder system. Our classes became self-sufficient with the fun and entertainment right inside the classroom, among my batch mates. I have to agree, that they were as refreshing as productive and informative. Whether it be monthly activity or monthly seminar, Pinocchio Lab (our classroom) has always presented me with a gift and teachings that changed me as a person. I know I have a long way to go. But now, I have started enjoying walking on this path and know that this will lead me to my destination.

CHANGE IS THE ONLY CONSTANT

Jasmine Kankaria,GWDD,2ND SEM, Arena Animation,Park Street.

Hello readers! I am Jasmine Kankaria and I am writing this blog to share my journey in Arena Animation,Park Street. This is my 1st blog ever, so please do give it a read!

I am currently studying BBA (Hons.)  from JDBI . And since I always had interest in Graphics and Web Design , I decided to join Arena Animation ,Park Street. In my 1st sem I learnt graphic designing under Deepak Sir. The 8 months there was fun and knowledgeable.

So just like any normal day I entered the class and he told me that he would take me to Somnath Sir and my 2nd Sem would begin immediately, on top of that I was the only student in the batch then so I had mixed emotions running of fear and excitement. Then we entered the famous “Pinocchio Lab” and Sir greeted me very warmly and took my orientation class, explaining me how my 8 months journey would unfold. He also explained me about the rules and regulations to be followed and was ready to solve all my doubts with a smile.

My first day of 2nd Sem at Arena Animation. Park Street had a great meaning to me. It was the beginning of my dream to be a successful graphic & web designer and developer. I had so many emotions running through me, that of excitement as it was the first class of the semester ,and most importantly eagerness to experience the transformation that I knew was bound to happen because I was told that I would learn under Somnath Sir, who was a very strict and senior teacher and popularly known as SINGHAM which also made me a little nervous.

Later, some of my friends also joined my batch and we became a team. Then we had freshers where we interacted with some of our seniors who were very helpful and friendly and spoke to us about their journey here. They welcomed us lovingly and told us that we were now a part of the GWDD family, which created an invisible bond between us.

Though not much time has passed in this Sem, still I have undergone some positive changes in me. Like, I have become more punctual, organised and focused in my work.  I also learnt something, “The pain of discipline is lesser than the pain of regret.”. I know this for sure that if I inculcate these positive habits in future, it will act as a ladder for my success.

Now, my dream of becoming self-independent and making my near and dear ones proud seems possible and this mission has got a proper shape and direction. However, this could only be possible under the guidance of a mentor like Somnath Sir.

“A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.”
