Hello readers!, a very warm welcome to all. I am Sattwik Banerjee, student of  Arena Animation Park Street, GWDD(2nd) Semester, wants to share my experience with you all about our recent GWDD monthly activity. which was  on 25th January, and the theme  was ” 70th Republic Day Celebration “.

Every month we decide a topic for our activity, make a proper layout regarding the same and execute it to the best on the final day with my GWDD family. Every month I wait for our monthly activity. This is not just an activity, it gives us refreshment which is needed after a full month of frantic schedules and work pressure. We start planning our activity a week before the activity date, an event is created on social media platforms and every student of APS is invited to the upcoming activity. This time, we got a golden opportunity to show our love and passion towards our nation India . If you missed my first blog check it out in the link below :

Now let’s see how me and my family execute the work. As usual all of us gathered in our  “Thor Lab” (our classroom) by 09:00 AM under the strictly informed by team leader and we started unwrapping our props and bags. We started, clicking a snap and posted it on social media, warmly inviting everyone to join with us. All of us already had a proper planning in mind, according to which we all were supposed to proceed.

My job was to make a perfect base and make a tricolor flag. My team mates were busy with their respective work. Our team took part in the activity with an energetic approach. After a while, we took a chai-break ( Source of our energy ) which was needed to maintain our energy levels for the activity. We were listening to patriotic songs while working .

” Aye mere pyaare vatan, Aye mere bichhade chaman
Tujh pe dil qurabaan ,
Tu hi merii aarazu,  Tu hi merii aabaru Tu hi merii jaan…”

When clock struck 1:30 PM , we had lunch break. This was the foremost part of our activity because we took lunch together including Somnath Chakraborty Sir. After completing our lunch together we were again back to our work, but this time with little pressure because time was passing by like speed of bullet, and Somnath Sir warned the deadline time that we could completed our work within our deadline at 5 PM. But we break the myth by completing our work within time. After completion our day activity, we take a group photo with our model.

Our team worked really hard and we paid our tribute to our country through our activity . Our final work was executed well as planned.

Burhan Mullamithawala , GWDD, 2nd sem,Arena Animation  Park Street

Hey guys! My name is Burhan Mullamithawala and I am a 2nd semester student in GWDD. I know it’s going to be tongue twister for everyone to pronounce my surname but you will soon get a knack of pronouncing it properly.

This is my very first blog which I have written in my life. I would like to give you a sneak peek into these past 8 months in Arena Animation, Park Street.

Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.” – A quote which has changed me for the better in these past months.

I am a B.Tech graduate from Netaji Subhash Engineering College, Kolkata.  Then my mother came to me with this idea about website designing as I had earlier shown interest in my school days. I read through a lot of other job prospects and I found GWDD to be most prospecting, so I joined Arena Animation after careful consideration. After joining Arena Animation, Park Street I saw what I was missing out on after my school days.

During my 1st semester my faculty were Deepak Sir and Sayani Ma’am. They taught me Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Coreldraw very efficiently .They are one of the coolest most supportive teachers I ever got. They helped me in every step of the way. But I didn’t know whom I was going to come across next.

My teachers did say that my 2nd semester is not going to be a walk in the garden as the course was going to get tougher and more over the teacher helming it is someone I have not met in my life before. I hoped for the better and it’s been one month now in my 2nd semester of web designing and I can easily say that I have found a great teacher in Sir Somnath Chakraborty. He is very diligent towards his work and more than that he truly cares for the future of his students. He’s strict when it comes to completing our work but that is only because he wants us to push our boundaries and expand. He has an unconventional way teaching. Something I have seen very rarely in my life. He scolds us with his bizarre eye and hand gestures when we are not concentrating on the things assigned to us by him but he pampers us too with all his love. I have already started making brands for my portfolio and I believe I’ve become more hardworking under his guidance.

I have also attended two seminars till now under Somnath Sir, and they have been very productive for me. He makes sure that each student gets the most out of it and challenges us to ask more questions.

He also tells to us to connect with our seniors for our work issues or any matter that’s riddling us. My seniors Kaushik Dalui and Salina Marandi have guided me in my problems related to my brand and portfolio designing. Mariyam and Annapurna are my classmates and they’ve been very helpful too when I had problems in Adobe Flash. We have become a good team in this past one month. We joke around too which eases mollifies the stress as our Somnath Sir says that bookish, robotic life will not help us in life and we should live a little outside our academic life.

I can easily say that I’m very happy to have joined Arena Animation, Park Street and more so I’m very fortunate to have got such supportive mentors and classmates who are always there to help. I have become more open about my problems and I do not have to look far for their solution anymore.

Thank you for taking the time to read my first blog. I hope to write more in the coming months. Stay tuned!

Lessons in the book of life

blog 1

Deepshikha De,GWDD, 2ND SEM,ARENA ANIMATION,PARK STREET

Hello everyone, I am Deepshikha,I am a second semester student of GWDD at Arena Animation, Park Street and this is my second blog.

“We can’t change where we came from but we can choose where we go from here.”- This is a motto that I have implemented into my life after spending a few months at Pinocchio Lab .

Although words are not enough,I have tried my best to put my experience into words. Not only  have I learned technical skills, I have also some of the most important lessons in life.

It took us some time to get acquainted with our class mates, but now our bonds of friendship have become much stronger. To be honest, earlier on I would hesitate before asking a fellow  class mate for help, but I realized once I put my ego aside,I could reap the benefits. Somnath Sir encourages us to ask questions, we question everything, it is better than blindly believing in things . It is true that we work much harder now, but I can’t explain the euphoria I feel after cracking a code that I had been struggling with for hours. Although we work hard, we also have fun, laughing at some joke someone cracked and not taking life too seriously.

Being in the lab always betters my mood. We have a sense of unity, for example when it’s someone’s birthday in our batch,we do our best to make the day special for him or her. We take pleasure in the simple joys of life.Sir always reminds us that the time we spend together will pass by in a flash, and we should make the most out of our time together.

I have learned to be patient, to carefully analyse a problem rather than simply giving up on it. Sir dislikes empty promises, he tells us to say things, which we can actually do instead of just making empty promises. We have been taught to see the good in people, we have been made to believe, that everyone has potential, we just have to take the courage to find out what we are good at. We have heard stories of students who didn’t have money in their pockets for a decent meal, but through hard work and perseverance they have achieved success in their life. These stories are very inspiring, as I feel we take basic amenities in life for granted. We have always had security, a good meal, a roof above our heads, clothes to wear,we never really sit and think about the fact that not everyone is lucky as us. I can say with conviction, we have all become better versions of ourselves in the few months we have spent together in Pinocchio Lab. Some of my classmates have gone through a drastic change, they were shy and scared at fast, they have become more confident and now smile often.

We even have our own nicknames, and have reached that comfortable stage where we can crack inside jokes which only we understand.

Sometimes seniors come to visit Sir, we learn about their experiences and how the industry is shark infested, and there is no room for sentimentality or emotion. The seniors are a living proof  of what we will achieve if we keep working hard . Sometimes, we just sit and listen to Sir’s stories, he is a treasure box of experiences, we have so much to learn from him.

Time slips through our fingers,it is hard to imagine that I have only a few months left at Pinocchio Lab.I do not know where life will take me or  which company I will end up working for but I know the memories that I have made here are memories of a life time.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I wish the readers a life full of beautiful memories too.

Sumaiya Rahman, GWDD-Plus, 2nd Semester, Arena Animation, Park Street

After a long time, typing to share own experiences is a different feeling altogether. This is not the last blog I am going to write, but definitely one of the most important and longest one till date.

No one can take what Arena Animation ,Park Street has given me. I am not that proud of my college life or never built any special moment there to cherish later. After third year I gave up on the thought of making good, fun memories in educational life or even later. Somehow, I was struggling to build my career and the rest seemed secondary. If I say that my first semester was boring I would be wrong. I did make many new friends and participated in events. But that became common when I came to 2nd Semester of my course. It took me time to adjust to the new ambiance, discipline, routine and lots more. Slowly and gradually I got used to it. And now, at present, thinking of leaving everything I am living here is a nightmare.

The first and foremost thing that Pinocchio lab (classroom of 2nd Sem) has given me is a family of six, not by blood but by relation. And I hope to carry forward that as long as possible. I agree that we fight, we get mad at each other, we stop talking, show our craziness, and sometimes unintentionally hurt. But we stick together and make it till the end.

e

Family By Relation, Not By Blood (Scroll Down To Know About Sixth Member)

Here, let me talk about one of the most interesting character of the family. He is renowned as Singham (Sir Somnath Chakraborty) and for a reason. He is that alchemist who brewed the elixir out of us. For me he is that “Silent Guardian” who protected us and made us who we are.

Yes, he gave us home tasks which took us sleepless nights to finish, assignments for which we had to work continuously for 5 to 6 hours without a break. That gave me an opportunity to start with a job in a company as Web Designer after I got selected in the machine test and personal Interview round. But it is here, in the same lab that we learned to upgrade ourselves everyday to become better than yesterday. And so, I upgraded to Digital Marketing to become a complete package before stepping out.

So now I know I am standing where I should be.

This reminds me of my first day in APS. I was sent to Rhythm Lab (our first classroom) and I noticed a wall painting, big enough to be looked at by all the people present in the room. It had a saying, “I may not have landed up where I wanted to be… but I have landed up where I needed to be”. First few days I took time to understand what it really meant. Being from Math background somewhere I still found ways to go back there. But today, while typing these lines I know and can say it proudly that I have landed up where I needed to be.

In my previous blogs I have already spoke about the monthly seminars and activities that we conduct, the lessons they taught, and benefits I received. Co-ordinating the activities and seminars not only taught me to organize the team but also myself which had an impact on my personal life too. In the movie “Spiderman” I still remember a dialogue,

“With great power comes great responsibilities..”

But in my case, my responsibilities helped me to discover the inner power I never realized I had.

Whenever the albums of those events got posted and the alumni commented, I could never understand what they missed when looking at those pictures. But today, when it is time for me to pass on the activity box to the next generation of Pinocchio Lab, hand over the “Satta” I can feel how painful and nostalgic it must be for them. And now it is like I want to collect as many sea-shells of memories as possible before leaving the lab forever.

Four walls make a classroom. The bonding between the students and the teachers of that class make it lively and a second home for each one.

After I leave, everything will be the same, the chairs, the monitors, the CPU’s, the floor, the walls. New people will take over my responsibilities, curriculum will proceed as they should. A new chapter will begin with new stories. And just like me, the lab will again start making new fighters. But my life will change for good, and with everything I got from here I’ll set out for another journey to another destination.

Life moves on, time goes by. After all, no one in this world is indispensable.

Tanushree Roy, GWDD  2nd Semester, Arena Animation, Park Street.

Hello readers! I’m Tanushree Roy from GWDD 2nd Semester of Arena Animation, Park Street, writing my first blog to share my experience about my journey so far.

After passing my diploma from Siliguri Govt. Polytechnic I didn’t know “what to do next”. One of my friend told me about Arena Animation, Park Street. I researched about it in Google. After going through its reviews, I decided to take admission in Arena Animation, Park Street. Though it’s a completely different path for me being as a polytechnic student but there was an urge from within to do something new in life.

My faculty at 1st semester was Sayani Ma’am. It was a good experience with her. She taught us Graphics in an interesting way.

During my 1st semester, I heard a lot of rumors about Sir Somnath Chakraborty, who is now our mentor in 2nd semester. Mostly I heard about his strict and disciplined nature. Before entering the class I was really nervous because of the rumors. The first thought that came to my mind was “Will I be able to complete this course?” But when I attended few classes of sir, the negative impact that I had in my mind was slowly fading away. He is not only a good mentor but also a perfect guide. I have learned to keep track of my daily performance, started accepting situations in a positive way as I know it’s for my benefit. Coming to class everyday is no more for attendance only, but to learn something new. And now the classes have become more interesting for me. With the progression of the class we have gained knowledge and got motivated in an innovative way. Our seniors have guided us and inspired us too with this course.

Now I have become more responsible and self-confident, and always try to submit work in deadline. I feel very lucky to be a GWDD family member. I want to continue the class in Pinocchio Lab, to improve myself further and to achieve my aim in life.

And at the end, I would like to say that  “I’m starting everything new again.”

Thank you readers for reading my blog. Soon I will be back with another interesting topic.

CHANGE IS THE ONLY CONSTANT

Jasmine Kankaria,GWDD,2ND SEM, Arena Animation,Park Street.

Hello readers! I am Jasmine Kankaria and I am writing this blog to share my journey in Arena Animation,Park Street. This is my 1st blog ever, so please do give it a read!

I am currently studying BBA (Hons.)  from JDBI . And since I always had interest in Graphics and Web Design , I decided to join Arena Animation ,Park Street. In my 1st sem I learnt graphic designing under Deepak Sir. The 8 months there was fun and knowledgeable.

So just like any normal day I entered the class and he told me that he would take me to Somnath Sir and my 2nd Sem would begin immediately, on top of that I was the only student in the batch then so I had mixed emotions running of fear and excitement. Then we entered the famous “Pinocchio Lab” and Sir greeted me very warmly and took my orientation class, explaining me how my 8 months journey would unfold. He also explained me about the rules and regulations to be followed and was ready to solve all my doubts with a smile.

My first day of 2nd Sem at Arena Animation. Park Street had a great meaning to me. It was the beginning of my dream to be a successful graphic & web designer and developer. I had so many emotions running through me, that of excitement as it was the first class of the semester ,and most importantly eagerness to experience the transformation that I knew was bound to happen because I was told that I would learn under Somnath Sir, who was a very strict and senior teacher and popularly known as SINGHAM which also made me a little nervous.

Later, some of my friends also joined my batch and we became a team. Then we had freshers where we interacted with some of our seniors who were very helpful and friendly and spoke to us about their journey here. They welcomed us lovingly and told us that we were now a part of the GWDD family, which created an invisible bond between us.

Though not much time has passed in this Sem, still I have undergone some positive changes in me. Like, I have become more punctual, organised and focused in my work.  I also learnt something, “The pain of discipline is lesser than the pain of regret.”. I know this for sure that if I inculcate these positive habits in future, it will act as a ladder for my success.

Now, my dream of becoming self-independent and making my near and dear ones proud seems possible and this mission has got a proper shape and direction. However, this could only be possible under the guidance of a mentor like Somnath Sir.

“A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.”

My GWDD Is My Identity…

Sattwik_Picture

Sattwik Banerjee, GWDD (2nd Sem), Arena Animation, Park Street

Hello readers! I am Sattwik Banerjee and it’s been near about 2 months since I started my GWDD 2nd sem in Arena Animation, Park Street. I am writing this blog to share my story of transformation from 1st sem to 2nd sem.

“Untill you don’t share your story,

There is no value for that kind of life story.”

After the miracle of birth and facing the light of earth there are lots of unknown things which we all have to face and learn. Gradually we all get accustomed to every unknown thing. This became a common question in life that after taking the traditional education, and then graduation, ‘What next in this life of rat race?’ Everybody chooses traditional line but choosing GWDD in APS  is just like “ Zarasa Hatke ” career option.

When the time was very close to the end of my graduation, the most disturbing question came in my mind, “now what next?”. At that time it was a very critical decision to go for right options along with dealing with questions like ”how could I get a job very quickly?”. After searching for the answer everywhere I decided to take GWDD (Graphics, Web Design And Development) course. My well wisher suggested me the name of “Arena Animation, Park Street” for taking the admission. Even though I had no idea or knowledge about this field, I got some positive vibes from inside which encouraged me to go for it. In my First semester I was under Saptarshi Sir, and after that Sayani Ma’am. I learned mostly everything about graphics in 1st semester. That time was like soft cloud nature , floating in air however I want but it didn’t take much days to turn the tables.

At the time of ending 1st sem I heard so many rumors like “Ek Bar Jake Dekho, Puri Duniya Ghum Jayegi” and more such things. Though they scared me initially, it also made me eager to experience the journey. We four students were going in “Pinocchio Lab” with our ma’am at the end of  our 1st sem class. Suddenly, the atmosphere turned from Arena Park Street to “Jurassic Park”, throat became dry , chairs were shaking , lots of atomic questions were coming to us & blasted in mind. We all faced those questions like cricket shots :“Front Foot Cut” ,” Hook ” ,” On Side Slog ” ,”Cover Drive” ,” Square Cut ” , “Helicopter ” shots. We all introduced ourselves  with brief description. Sir knew me as “Jomdut”(In english “King of Death”), credit goes to a drama “Jomalaye Jibonto Manush” in which I played the role of that character in APS  Spring festival.

(To see the video please click here : https://www.facebook.com/hulk.animator/videos/oa.1487809924675870/859436824262075/?type=3)

After that day three consecutive days we had orientation classes, we all had been getting ideas about our course , class system , rules & regulation , discipline , manner, way of talking, etc . Unexpectedly, one day we had senior and freshers orientation programe . Somnath Sir introduced us with seniors & talked about seniors’ perfection , duty , process of work and lots more. Seniors gave all of us a surprise gift that we liked. They made us feel special in their way and we felt more enjoyable in the room than before. In this room “I” got replaced by “we”, a team , a bondage . After that we all got some lone time to talk with seniors . All of them are very responsible , dutiful, sharing their experience with us, told us about the rumors, class system , how to present work to sir, in short, a trailer of our upcoming journey .The day ended well with a ‘group-fie’ (Group photograph)

Finally, after one day sir started our classes . Under his guidance we got more involved in this course . Each new day we learned a new lesson. All of us are really motivated with each passing day.

I am really fortunate to be a part of GWDD family , everyone helped us in every aspect . And we got our Singham Sir(Somnath sir) in “Pinocchio Lab”(our classroom).

And now, I believe:

“If you want to see the world, you have to be GWDDIAN  and not a frog in a well.”
