My GWDD Is My Identity…

Sattwik Banerjee, GWDD (2nd Sem), Arena Animation, Park Street

Hello readers! I am Sattwik Banerjee and it’s been near about 2 months since I started my GWDD 2nd sem in Arena Animation, Park Street. I am writing this blog to share my story of transformation from 1st sem to 2nd sem.

“Untill you don’t share your story,

There is no value for that kind of life story.”

After the miracle of birth and facing the light of earth there are lots of unknown things which we all have to face and learn. Gradually we all get accustomed to every unknown thing. This became a common question in life that after taking the traditional education, and then graduation, ‘What next in this life of rat race?’ Everybody chooses traditional line but choosing GWDD in APS  is just like “ Zarasa Hatke ” career option.

When the time was very close to the end of my graduation, the most disturbing question came in my mind, “now what next?”. At that time it was a very critical decision to go for right options along with dealing with questions like ”how could I get a job very quickly?”. After searching for the answer everywhere I decided to take GWDD (Graphics, Web Design And Development) course. My well wisher suggested me the name of “Arena Animation, Park Street” for taking the admission. Even though I had no idea or knowledge about this field, I got some positive vibes from inside which encouraged me to go for it. In my First semester I was under Saptarshi Sir, and after that Sayani Ma’am. I learned mostly everything about graphics in 1st semester. That time was like soft cloud nature , floating in air however I want but it didn’t take much days to turn the tables.

At the time of ending 1st sem I heard so many rumors like “Ek Bar Jake Dekho, Puri Duniya Ghum Jayegi” and more such things. Though they scared me initially, it also made me eager to experience the journey. We four students were going in “Pinocchio Lab” with our ma’am at the end of  our 1st sem class. Suddenly, the atmosphere turned from Arena Park Street to “Jurassic Park”, throat became dry , chairs were shaking , lots of atomic questions were coming to us & blasted in mind. We all faced those questions like cricket shots :“Front Foot Cut” ,” Hook ” ,” On Side Slog ” ,”Cover Drive” ,” Square Cut ” , “Helicopter ” shots. We all introduced ourselves  with brief description. Sir knew me as “Jomdut”(In english “King of Death”), credit goes to a drama “Jomalaye Jibonto Manush” in which I played the role of that character in APS  Spring festival.

After that day three consecutive days we had orientation classes, we all had been getting ideas about our course , class system , rules & regulation , discipline , manner, way of talking, etc . Unexpectedly, one day we had senior and freshers orientation programe . Somnath Sir introduced us with seniors & talked about seniors’ perfection , duty , process of work and lots more. Seniors gave all of us a surprise gift that we liked. They made us feel special in their way and we felt more enjoyable in the room than before. In this room “I” got replaced by “we”, a team , a bondage . After that we all got some lone time to talk with seniors . All of them are very responsible , dutiful, sharing their experience with us, told us about the rumors, class system , how to present work to sir, in short, a trailer of our upcoming journey .The day ended well with a ‘group-fie’ (Group photograph)

Finally, after one day sir started our classes . Under his guidance we got more involved in this course . Each new day we learned a new lesson. All of us are really motivated with each passing day.

I am really fortunate to be a part of GWDD family , everyone helped us in every aspect . And we got our Singham Sir(Somnath sir) in “Pinocchio Lab”(our classroom).

And now, I believe:

“If you want to see the world, you have to be GWDDIAN  and not a frog in a well.”

Deepshikha De ( 2nd Sem GWDD )Arena Animation,Park Street.

Hello everyone,  my name is Deepshikha De. I am a 2nd semester student of GWDD at Arena Animation,Park Street. Along with this I am also pursuing a graduation course in Mass Communication from St.  Xavier’s College .This is my first blog. I would like to share my experience as an almost two month GWDDian of the second semester.

After finishing my first semester, there was an orientation program where Sayoni Ma’am (1st sem teacher) handed us over to Somnath Sir.(Our 2nd sem teacher/mentor popularly Known as Singham ) Honestly we had heard a lot about our “ Singham ”, we had heard he was strict and the only way to please him was by completing all the work he assigns on time. All this was true, but we also discovered Sir had a keen sense of humor , he always encouraged us to enjoy our lives. We were inspired by Sir as he told us of all the students who have transformed their lives. We realized with hard work and determination, we can also go on to do well and achieve our goals in life .Our seniors were also very friendly and helpful, they helped us to get accustomed to this course. We learnt a very valuable lesson from the seniors, they always did their work in harmony, and there is a sense of co-operation and unity among them, which is very essential for us as well.

Our seminars are a lot of fun too, sometimes our stomachs hurt from laughing. One incident that stood out was the “interview”. In our workshop, we were all being made to give our interviews to Sir, it was a nail biting experience, but it prepared us for what will come later in our life. Although I missed our first activity, I was lucky to be part of the second one. It was a great experience to work as a team in harmony to honor the brave soldiers who gave up their lives so we could have a better life. We celebrated Kargil Vijay Divas with a lot of pride as proud Indian.

I get inspiration from my class mates, they wake up at ungodly hours and travel such long distances to attend classes, they motivate me . Our love for samosa , elaichi chai and group discussions have increased in the past two months. Some of my bad habits has also reduced marginally. I don’t bite my nails anymore, at least not in front of Sir. I have stopped slouching while typing , I have learned to stop interrupting someone while they are speaking. I have also discovered I love html so much more than Flash. (Thank God Flash is redundant in my field.)I am working harder, at first I thought handling college and web designing together would be impossible, but I have learnt the art of time management. The most important lesson I have learnt is that failing is much better than not trying, so we don’t lose any more, either we win or we learn.

I have also noticed how reluctant our seniors are to quit ”Pinocchio Lab” they were very upset. Well, we can’t freeze time, one day we will be in our senior’s position, till then all we can do is live in the now and enjoy our ”today” in Pinocchio Lab .

Thank You for reading, I hope you enjoyed reading my blog as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Salina-Marandi

Salina Marandi, GWDD, 2nd SEM, ARENA ANIMATION, PARK STREET

Hello everyone, I am Salina Marandi, a student of Arena Animation, Park Street. It’s been two months since I started a new journey as a student of GWDD (Graphics, Web Design & Development) 2nd Sem. And I am writing my first blog to share my experience till now with you all.

In July 2017, I became the part of Arena Animation, Park Street. I joined GWDD course with a firm motive to make my dreams come true, to be independent. The 1st semester classes were very fine and I was happy to receive the classes given to us. Our faculty taught us the software with proper guidance and solved our queries with care and patience. But now I have realized that just by attending classes, learning the software tools, being a self-centered person will not be enough to achieve what I ever wanted to.

And this realization came when a new chapter was unfoldedin my life. One fine day on 2nd June 2018, I came to my 1stSemester class, after few minutes our faculty told us,

“Time to go to 3rd floor, Pinocchio Lab”.

All of a sudden we started preparing ourselves for the introductory meeting, wearing ID card, turning mobile to silent mode, wishing each other good luck. As we all knew, we will be meeting the famous person known for discipline and regularity in Arena Animation, Park Street ,  Somnath Sir.

My first introduction with Sir was very “ darise hmisi” .And why not?Meeting the ‘SINGHAM’ of Arena Animation, Park Street for the first time.Additionally heard so many-rumors about him. I was as meek as a lamb. But towards the end of the meeting I was confirmed that to be a part of this lab and to achieve success, hard work and proper planning is very essential.

Our three days orientation taken by our mentor was genuinely an enlightening experience. I built self-confidence within me. Those days were the self-evaluation days, very much needed before proceeding in this course.Again giving me a realization that it’s I who can build my future and destroy my future too.

Our seniors have always been an inspiration to us with their team unity, confidence and straightforwardness towards their dream job.

The after class group discussion with the seniors and with my team members have turned out to be a fruitful one. Spending quality time with my team members, learning team coordination, helping each other in need was never a part of me but now it holds a great importance in my life.

The last two months have honestly brought a lot of change in me. It has taught me to be patience with my work, proper planning, time management, research, carry positive attitude everywhere and to be happy with the work that we do. I remember our mentor stated in one of the orientation days that,

“Aaj se 8 mahino baad tum apne aapko dekhkar yakin nahi kar paoge ki tum pehle kyathe or ab kya ho.”

I belief this whole statement, when there is a change in me within 2 months, then I am ready for more changes in me in the upcoming 6 months.

My life in Pinocchio Lab is going well and it will go well too. As the negative blockage from my mind and heart is slowly fading away. My dreams are visible now. And my motive has been inspired and motivated again to take real actions.

Thank you everyone, that’s all I have to write. And soon I will be back again in my next blog with interesting and exciting topics. Till then be positive and spread positivity  Goodbye!

GWDD Safar Hai Suhana

Arindam Bhowmick, 2nd Sem, GWDD, Arena Animation, Park Street

Hello readers! I am back with my another piece of experience  in GWDD PLUS  journey in Arena Animation, Park Street. Hopefully it will put an impact on all of you  and help to learn from my mistakes. If you haven’t checked my experience on internship, then check out the link below: –

https://arenaps.wordpress.com/2018/06/09/koi-bhi-dhandha-chota-nahi-hota-dhandhe-se-bada-koi-dharam-nahi-hota/

Only 1 month left to complete this course. Now I feel lucky to choose this course to achieve my dream job as Graphics and Web Designer. GWDD taught me so many lessons which really helped me a lot to overcome challenges which might have been impossible for me to manage. Working as a Design Intern I really like doing graphics design but it’s not easy enough to manage web programming classes at the same time. At first I only stayed within the class timings (TTS 11-1pm only ), but now it takes an entire day in the class. The important thing is researching and updating myself with the latest trends (Graphics & Web Designing  2018 onwards) so that I can compete with current competition I have to face in the market. I tell you, web programming is not easy as a subject. For this I must be focused and passionate to learn these languages in more details .Day by day, I am sacrificing to do everything to achieve my target.

My mentor  Singham Sir( Somnath Chakraborty) is really motivating me through this challenging time I am dealing with everyday. At evening, when I reach home, I work on my Internship till midnight or sometimes longer. After that I do my research work on web, complete assignments and projects in the course. In spite of all these I also participate in competitions like Creative Minds, GWDD monthly activities and seminars.

I got all the inspirations from my seniors/alumni’s, from their efforts, hard work and success stories which are motivating for me. All my alumni are well settled and succeeded to achieve their dream jobs. Whenever I get frustrated and feel weak, I always think about them, their struggles. If they could, why can’t I?

With this internship I am getting an idea what I will face in the job and thus helping me to have good communication skills, planning, organized work and maintaining the deadline. It’s never easy at first but I never like to give up.

At times I really feel very over-pressured handling both together. Sometimes I do lose my temper and become frustrated. But one thing never came in my mind, i.e. to quit. The experience that I am getting here, the struggles that I have to do and extra load that I am taking will pay off in the near future, I can feel it. I can feel the changes in me and improvement in my skills. GWDD PLUS  is not just a course but a full training session where I got trained to broaden my thoughts, to come out of the well, to think out of the box, to see the world and live like how I want to live, different from the crowd, deviated from the rat race. The ethics and moral are now in my veins, which will never leave me. And thus, as life moves on I will move on with all these valuable riches.

I know I have to take risks. If I win I will be happy, if I lose I will be wise.

Kargil Shaheedo Ko Salam

Arindam_Img

Arindam Bhowmick, GWDD (2nd Sem), Arena Animation, Park Street.

Hello readers, I am back with another blog sharing experience of our monthly activity which is conducted every month by GWDD (2nd) Sem Students of Arena Animation, Park Street. Like every month we make plan and execute. So, we decided to dedicate this monthly activity to our “Shaheed Jawans” of Kargil War (Operation Vijay), lest we forget. The infamous Kargil war was fought about 19 years ago. Since 1999, Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 26th July. Our activity occurred on 20th July remembering sacrifices made by our Indian Army Worriers.

“Kargil Vijay Diwas remind us of India’s military prowess”

We started our monthly activity like every activity we do, but this was an honorable tribute to salute our national heroes. Our team was very much energized to proceed this activity. We were all set for work and started our work as we planned. In the meantime, we took chai-break (Morning energy drink) which was very much needed to keep up our good work within our work. To keep our environment patriotic, we were listening to patriotic songs while working in our own.

“Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it, it flies with the last breath of each solider who died protecting it.”

We felt very much energized in presence of our MAHAGURU (Sir Ramesh Ruia).  He really appreciated our theme of this monthly activity. He shared stories of battles in Kargil war. And also, his experience of Kargil war Memorial visit in Dras, in the foothills of the Tololing Hill. It was really informative and sorrow moment of martyrs of Kargil war.

“Either I will come back after hoisting the tricolors or I will come back wrapped in it, but I will come back for sure.”

-Capt. Vikram Batra

We are really secured and sleeping well for the sacrifice made by our soldiers. We should pay tribute to our soldiers. If we are patriotic we shouldn’t feel proud by having the facilities from our country we should be proud to give and do for our country. A life of solider is not that they leave their mother to serve its like they join another mother to serve (BHARAT MATA). I am really touched by this activity we did, it’s really proud moment in Arena Animation, Park Street to tribute to our soldiers.

“Service Before Self” – Indian Army

Our team worked really hard and gave their tribute through this activity to Our National Heroes. Our final work was executed well as planned. We really felt proud by the tricolours which really showed the dedication and importance to our work.

Get a glimpse of our activity here.

This Activity is really made me learn so many things which I learnt in one day lesson of a year. Most important this work was impossible with out team work, dedication, team coordination, passion. This was an oxygen for after whole month of works. I am really Proud to be an Indian to pay tribute to our heroes of nation.

“Nothing is possible without unity and integrity.”

Sumaiya Rahman, GWDD (2nd Sem), Arena Animation, Park Street

A monthly activity conducted by the students of GWDD (2nd Sem), Arena Animation, Park Street is no more a secret to the world. Every month we decide a theme, plan a layout and execute it on the final day with team work, team co-ordination and hard work. But the last activity (i.e. on 20th July, 2018) compelled me to pen down my experience. Before proceeding any further I would like to mention the theme first, it was on “Kargil Vijay Diwas” which is celebrated on 26th July.

The day holds a beautiful story of bravery, sacrifice and patriotism behind it. Not many of us know the significance and thus mostly it is neglected. Our whole team decided to dedicate our last activity to the martyrs of Kargil war.

The morning was no different from others. Everything happened as decided and we were set to work. It was after our first picture got posted in the Facebook, inviting everyone to join us that we got to know that MAHAGURU (Ramesh Ruia Sir) would like to join us to share some wonderful stories. Who doesn’t like to listen to stories! The spark of excitement was clearly visible on everyone’s faces and all were again energized. When sir arrived we all waited curiously to explore what’s lying ahead. And let me tell you, those few moments that he spent with us were enough to make us speechless, numb and feel ashamed of us. In a situation where we often complain about that costly dress we couldn’t buy or the pair of shoes that were not on sale or may be the meal which wasn’t tasty, there are humans working hard 24X7 to keep us inside the safety bubble, to protect us from foreign attacks and maintain peace in their home, their motherland. They give their lives everyday, staying isolated from the rest of the world so that we can see the morning sun rays or enjoy with our friends and families. And every morning, when we take our lives, our protection for granted we never think that all these are a favor on us by some selfless son or daughter of our country. The stories from Kargil War shook us from inside. The difficulties that we couldn’t even imagine were faced and conquered by our Indian Army.

It took me a while to come back to the activity from those bravery tales of our soldiers. But that brought a major change in my outlook, in my work on that day. Suddenly, I wasn’t working because I had to. I was working because from my heart I wanted to pay them the homage and dedicate all our hard work, our special day to them. Like other activities, problems did arrive. But where different souls were working with the same sacred intention, problems hurdles and obstacles had to be defeated.

The work seemed to be less but turned out to be a big unexpected bundle. Once again, due to this miscalculation we crossed the deadline. But at the end, when everyone looked at the board, the final output of the whole day, the tri color of Indian Flag, a jolt of patriotism, a smile of satisfaction reflected on our faces.

This activity left an impression deep on the soul. It taught us more than anything we have faced in Pinocchio Lab (our class room) till now. Along with making the bond stronger between the team members, it also made the bond stronger with our “MAA”, our motherland. And now, I feel proud to say that “I am a GWDDian, I am an Indian”.

Hello readers! I am Shebi Maurya from GWDD, 2nd sem of Arena Animation, Park Street, writing my second blog to share my exciting experience with you all on GWDD July month activity. So far we have done a lot of activities, but this month’s was very special to us.

(Click Here For My Last Blog)

Every month I wait for our monthly activity. This is not just an activity; this is a kind of refreshment which is needed after a full month of hectic schedule and work pressure. We start planning our activity a week before the activity date. All these monthly activities stand more special to me since it gives me an opportunity to show my love and passion for painting.

All these monthly activities are theme-based; we decide a theme and plan our activity accordingly. Our July month theme was on “Kargil Vijay Diwas”. A small effort to give homage to the brave soldiers who has sacrificed their life in the “Kargil War”. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 26th July every year in honor of  the Kargil War heroes. We started our work at sharp 9:00 AM with full enthusiasm. All of us were contributing in crafts and painting according to our capabilities. Our activity is not only about crafts and painting, it is also learning how to work in a team and complete your work within deadline.

(Click here to get a glimpse)

“If we ate in peace, then thanks a soldier”.

We all were busy with our work and suddenly our Mahaguru Mr. Ramesh Ruia Sir came and asked us whether we know the whole story of Kargil War. He shared his experience of visiting Kargil and the real story of Kargil War. He told us the importance of this day. We all were touched by the story, that how our brave soldiers with their determined efforts recaptured all the Indian posts that had been occupied by the enemy. He told us about late Captain Vikram Batra who fought and was martyred on July 7 , 1999 in combat with enemy. No one can ever forget, ‘ye dil maange more.’ This is what late Captain Vikram Batra said to his commander at the base during the Kargil War. He appreciated our initiatives for doing activity on Kargil Vijay Diwas.

After these we all were back to our work and tried to finish  50 % of our work before lunch time. I was busy with the painting  & others with crafts, captions etc. Then when clock struck 2:00 PM, we had lunch break. This is the best part of our activity because we do lunch together including Somnath Chakraborty Sir and Sayani Mukherjee Mam. After completing our lunch we were again back to our work, but this time with little pressure because time was passing and a lot of work was still pending.

We all were doing our respective works and some how manage to complete our work by 5:30 PM. Then we went down and installed our work. After installation a group picture was taken and like this we completed our activity on a good note.

If someone asks me what will I miss most about my GWDD course? I will definitely say monthly activity.

I’ll either come back after raising the Tricolour or wrapped in it”.

                                                                                     – Captain Vikram Batra
