“His ambition is to be the spider in the World Wide Web……”

John McCarthy

Hi there…..We met in my previous blogs before. Today I want to discuss my experience as a GWDD (Graphics, Web Design & Development) Student at Arena Animation Park Street. What I think about Web is…..It is the best thing that ever happened to me. When I got admitted in APS as a graphics and web student, I knew least about the vast world of Web. Gradually I got the unique taste of web and I really felt that nowadays we are all along dependent on it. We are living in the Web! Ok now let’s get deep and start with a simple poll. How many of your friends do you text daily? I know keeping that in mind is hard. Do you have more conversations through web than you do in person? It seems that more and more people are moving away from face-to-face interactions but instead moving towards a more web-driven way of life, myself included!

I got to know the basics of web like how to make a static webpage and turning it into dynamic website. It felt so wonderful knowing the facts behind the webpages we are going through every single day, hours, minutes…….. Trust me coding, developing sounds so heavy for the freshers like us but you can fell in love with it if you have a passion for web.

The GWDD course curriculum provides the best subjects and upto date study material that the students will be benefited in all the ways.

The GWDD course makes you upto the trend, updated and builds your skill in the World Wide Web. Beside the course we all were involved in extra-curricular activities like- Agomoni, Rakhi such events. “Only work and no play makes jack a dull boy” ……. never faced such situation!

At the end of the day  I would definitely like to say that GWDD is the best carrier option according to me because Web is now the real conqueror and to know web more you have to go for this course-The best curriculum till now.

Web Designing & Development as Career

An Article by Ankita Bhattacharya (Web Student at Arena Multimedia – Park Street)

The 21st Century saw an explosion in commodities and services. Our growing economy has created millions of buyers. In today’s hectic and complex lifestyle websites provide one of the most powerful tool to connect buyers with sellers. This is more relevant in light of our PM Narendra Modi’s “Digital India” programme and Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s vision of connecting every Indian village with internet by 2020.

As per Google survey of 2013 only 45% of small business houses in India has their own website. Hence smaller businesses are not maximizing the benefit of their internet presence, but it should be pointed out that those taking advantage of it are really experiencing significant gains. So why are so many still missing the boat? The main reason that it is important for business to have a website is how people are likely to find one. These days most people will go online search for a product or a company before they make a purchase. The points above justify the selection of web designing and development as a profession of today as well as tomorrow.

The World Wide Web was introduced by Tim Berner’s Lee in the year of 1989. Sir Tim Berners Lee is a British Computer Scientist. The different areas of Web design include Web Graphic Design, Interface Design, Authoring, including Standardised Code and proprietary software, User Experience design and Search Engine Optimization. On the other hand, Web Development involves in developing a website for hosting via internet or intranet.

This unique profession which calls for-

  • Graphic Design Theory
  • Communicative Skill
  • Business Sense
  • Creativity

is taught at- Arena Animation, Park Street.

One may take up the course considering both job opportunity as well as satisfaction of a creative soul.

Web Content is more important than Web Designing

An Article by Kamalesh Patel (Web Student at Arena Multimedia – Park Street)

The World is increasingly becoming more and more competitive and customers expect only the best. Web Content is the reason for which people visit the popular sites. Another important reason of Web Content is that publishing good content will increase the number of people who find your website through Search Engine. Search Engine want frequently updated content, and if you want people to your site, it’s important to provide content that people want to see.

Web designers and developers create interesting design and interaction with their own ideas, concept and knowledge. But the customer needs the best, they are not interested to know the backend technology used for building a website. They just want the interactivity in their work. Customers are coming to your webpages for its content and if your design, architecture and interactivity don’t provide that Content then they will leave.

There are two important types of web content.

  1. Text
  2. Multimedia

Text Content – Text Content is easy to understand. Textual Web Content will help readers to get more information in detail. These web text are written for global and local audiences. So that it can read by anyone around the world.

Multimedia Content- Multimedia Content isn’t text but helps in attracting audiences through lots of visual effects such as animation, images, sound and videos. These contents are also very much helpful and easy to understand to the audience.

In the end Web Content is important and it is the ‘King’ of the web page and if the designer’s forget that, they won’t be in this business for long.

Web designing is basically related to designing of web pages. The pages which we see on the internet are designed in different ways. These designs include images, text, graphics, hyperlinks etc. The designing of these pages is basically done by the web designers, who are specialised in this with the help of software like Photoshop, Illustrator, Coreldraw etc. to meet the various demands of designing.

Web designers design all these web pages keeping some points in mind like customer’s demand, suitability, needs and accessibility. These web pages are then given to the web developer whose role is to technically develop all these pages for upload on the internet.

Web development involves the construction of web pages and how they will appear on the internet. These web pages are developed with the help of programming languages like HTMP, CSS, Javascript etc.

In the current technology era, communication is the most vital part of man’s life. Without proper communication survival of human race will be difficult. Amongst the numerous resources for communication, website or World Wide Web is vital part.

With the increase in web technology and easy access to the internet website are becoming the need of everyone. As the Smartphones are getting more and more user friendly, with load of features to offer, they are really giving the P.C. and Laptop a run for their money.

At present, a website is becoming a part of digital identity. It does not matter whether you are an individual or an organization, having a website is necessary. This not only creates identity about you, but it also gives easy information about you or your organization to mass audience. With the raise in E-Commerce, website is becoming more and more important.

With all this features and advantages, website is no doubt will be in demand for many years to come. However, the competition will become tough. Then digital marketing will play a very important role. Let me explain with an example. Lets say, there’s a mall in your city. In that mall there are many stores selling all types of products. After few months, 10 more malls open up with the same business pattern. With so many options for customer to chose, it becomes increasingly difficult to capture the attention of the customer. So in order to gain attention of customers, every shopkeeper needs to promote its store and increase its revenue. In same manner, you need promotion for your website. Thus, marketing is a vital part of E-Commerce site.

Keeping all this in mind, selecting web as profession does have a bright career opening. However, one should keep in mind that to become successful in this field one needs to be open for the changes. Because web technology and taste of customer changes with time.

What’s Your Style?

An Article shared by our Ex-Student: Amrit Podder

Each and every day we take journeys. We embark on customer journeys in both the physical and digital worlds. The layouts that we see on the new website designs are a lot different than the ones that were even a few years back. In the past years, there have been major changes, thanks to HTML5, CSS3 and the jQuery that everyone loves. The impact of these and the trends they’ve generated is massive on the web design industry. If before them, we had websites which had a layout based on a standard grid or on a platform that was somehow rigid, nowadays we are having websites that are a lot different. And that is a good thing, because the designs are getting more and more visual and designers are paying a lot more attention to user interface design and user experience. Say goodbye to deep-nesting JavaScript callbacks and to dirtying your stylesheets with unwieldy CSS animations. It’s time to up your web animation game.
