Hello everyone! I am Shrrija Das 2nd sem student pursuing DADM course from Arena Animation,Park Street.

This is my very first blog which basically pens down my experiences I have had so far in these very four walls of Arena Animation. I can undoubtedly assure you that the last 10 months of my 1st sem(comprising of Digital Advertising Design) here were nothing but an enriching experience about learning something new and assimilating my thoughts and ideas into one place.

It is before joining Arena, that I had this idea, that someone who has great knowledge about painting and designing could only go for these type of courses which wasn’t totally wrong but wasn’t totally right either. This course will not only allow me to learn something new in the fields of designing but also help me out with marketing as I am pursuing Bachelor Of Management Studies from St. Xavier’s College,Kolkata and would also become an icing on the cake for my resume.

It is also believed that –“Knowledge is the only thing that this world can’t take away from us”. And I always go by this notion.

Coming to the faculty members, my 1st sem mentors were Sayani Ma’am and Deepak Sir. They taught me Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition respectively. Both of them were equally supportive and it is because of them that I could learn how to get my scattered ideas and creativity together.

Often, Ma’am used to say –“ Make it simple, but significant .” Trust me, this saying works wonders if you understand it.

Talking about the 2nd sem(comprising of Digital Marketing) taking place in the “Thor” lab, it has only been 5 days with Somnath Sir and I can tell that he is one of a kind. He is also known as ‘Singham’ for a reason, but he is very persistent in his work and that is to teach us the right ways in building a great core straight for the industry, which shows that he truly cares for his students. From the very first day, he has told us that Digital Marketing is not going to be as easy as what we have learnt in 1st sem and that it is not about tools but he will be there for us whenever we need him only after we try to solve the problem ourselves in the first place. I believe, with his support by my side and by listening to what he says I can work on my loopholes.

I have also attended a seminar conducted by him which proved to be an effective one and I am also looking forward to attending more of it. Meghna is my classmate, we have started our classes together and she has always helped me out with the problems I have faced so far.  A wonderful initiative was also taken up by the seniors, Burhan Mullamithawala, Mariyam Dharar, Rupankan Bhattacharya & Salini Pal to welcome us as the freshers to the Thor lab, where we learnt many things about the lab and got to know about sir a little more and that what we should do and what we should not. Overall, so far it has been a great experience and I am really happy to be a part of Arena Animation, Park Street. I am looking forward to having more great experiences as long as I am here.

Always remember to “Be thankful for everything that happens in your life; it’s all an experience” – by Roy T.Bennett.

Lessons in the book of life

blog 1

Deepshikha De,GWDD, 2ND SEM,ARENA ANIMATION,PARK STREET

Hello everyone, I am Deepshikha,I am a second semester student of GWDD at Arena Animation, Park Street and this is my second blog.

“We can’t change where we came from but we can choose where we go from here.”- This is a motto that I have implemented into my life after spending a few months at Pinocchio Lab .

Although words are not enough,I have tried my best to put my experience into words. Not only  have I learned technical skills, I have also some of the most important lessons in life.

It took us some time to get acquainted with our class mates, but now our bonds of friendship have become much stronger. To be honest, earlier on I would hesitate before asking a fellow  class mate for help, but I realized once I put my ego aside,I could reap the benefits. Somnath Sir encourages us to ask questions, we question everything, it is better than blindly believing in things . It is true that we work much harder now, but I can’t explain the euphoria I feel after cracking a code that I had been struggling with for hours. Although we work hard, we also have fun, laughing at some joke someone cracked and not taking life too seriously.

Being in the lab always betters my mood. We have a sense of unity, for example when it’s someone’s birthday in our batch,we do our best to make the day special for him or her. We take pleasure in the simple joys of life.Sir always reminds us that the time we spend together will pass by in a flash, and we should make the most out of our time together.

I have learned to be patient, to carefully analyse a problem rather than simply giving up on it. Sir dislikes empty promises, he tells us to say things, which we can actually do instead of just making empty promises. We have been taught to see the good in people, we have been made to believe, that everyone has potential, we just have to take the courage to find out what we are good at. We have heard stories of students who didn’t have money in their pockets for a decent meal, but through hard work and perseverance they have achieved success in their life. These stories are very inspiring, as I feel we take basic amenities in life for granted. We have always had security, a good meal, a roof above our heads, clothes to wear,we never really sit and think about the fact that not everyone is lucky as us. I can say with conviction, we have all become better versions of ourselves in the few months we have spent together in Pinocchio Lab. Some of my classmates have gone through a drastic change, they were shy and scared at fast, they have become more confident and now smile often.

We even have our own nicknames, and have reached that comfortable stage where we can crack inside jokes which only we understand.

Sometimes seniors come to visit Sir, we learn about their experiences and how the industry is shark infested, and there is no room for sentimentality or emotion. The seniors are a living proof  of what we will achieve if we keep working hard . Sometimes, we just sit and listen to Sir’s stories, he is a treasure box of experiences, we have so much to learn from him.

Time slips through our fingers,it is hard to imagine that I have only a few months left at Pinocchio Lab.I do not know where life will take me or  which company I will end up working for but I know the memories that I have made here are memories of a life time.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I wish the readers a life full of beautiful memories too.

Hello readers, I am Diksha Singh from GWDD , 2nd sem of Arena Animation, Park Street, writing my second blog to share my experience with you all and it’s been 6 months since I started my GWDD 2nd semester.  If you missed my first blog check in the link below:

https://arenaps.wordpress.com/2018/05/18/tum-hi-ho-bandhu-sakha-tumhi/

My work has made an important contribution in my life. It has shaped me into a punctual and disciplined person. Within a few days i got addicted to my work. I have been a regular student in 2nd semester, but “honi ko kon taal sakta hai ?“. I was attacked by a health issue, and i was not allowed to work for long hours by the doctors. Since then each moment passed like a day. I was advised by doctor to take absolute rest for two weeks. Though i was very delighted that the case didn’t turned out to be a serious one but my conscience for my work was in equal proportions. I always used to think about my days at Pinocchio lab, which increased my urge to work and get well as soon as possible. I was missing my important classes, the lessons which were taught during the class premises. The most troubling thing was that, I was unable to get my work approvals, which is really important for me to get ahead with my course.

Within those two weeks, i realized the importance of my work. I was in touch with the regular activities taking place inside my room, through my batch mates , during my absence. During my illness, my mentor, Somanth Chakraborty Sir, was a supporting figure, and so were my batch mates. After a few days of rest i felt revived and my enthusiasm reached its zenith when i realized that i would be continuing with my work soon.

On the last day of my recovery i got acquainted with the fact that i can’t live without my work. Working gave me satisfaction and always keeps me away from the chaos of day to day life. I find peace in working. Moreover, I feel very relaxed and satisfied whenever i think that my decision of pursuing with this course is turning out to be the most fruitful one.

When I was at home during my illness, i use to plan about how to recover all the classes which i was missing, I made a planning sheet, and listed all the important things which was important for me to learn and complete. I became more determined and dedicated towards my class and career.

Conclusively, this was a bad experience which made me realize that how much my work means to me. Whenever i remember those days, it brings shiver down my spine.

Digital Marketing:”Swagat Nahi Karoge Aap Humara..?”

Sumaiya Rahman, 2nd Sem, GWDD, Arena Animation, Park Street

Hi friends! Sumaiya Rahman, GWDD(2nd Sem) is back with a hot topic this time. By my last blog (check out my last blog here:

https://arenaps.wordpress.com/2018/05/07/ek-chhoti-seminar-ki-keemat-tum-kya-jano/   ) you all know that we often attend “Zara  Se Hatke” seminars. Last month all  2nd  semester GWDD students were fortunate enough to attend such a seminar conducted by Ramesh Ruia Sir, our Center Head

( To know more: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=182674505888384&set=oa.1568974669892728&type=3&theater&ifg=1  ). But this seminar had an impact so strong that I changed my mind. Oh yes! You read it right, I changed my mind and updated from GWDD to GWDD PLUS. The most surprising thing is other candidates in our batch did the same. Why do you think one seminar can make us change our course ? Every other student was in the same suspense when we all took the stand together to update our course from GWDD to GWDD PLUS. Questions were asked and we were told to think twice before taking the drastic step, consult with our guardians and inform some other time.

Well, the seminar opened a new dimension for us, a hidden world we didn’t know existed. So now we have enrolled for “GWDD PLUS”. Let me first speak about the latest features of this. It includes everything from GWDD along with other new hot topics. But the main topic which acted as a black hole for us is “Digital Marketing”.

GWDD already gave us the scope to work in different fields as Web developer, Web Designer, Graphics Designer and lot others but Digital Marketing enlarged that field beyond our imagination. Now we can be SEO Consultant, SEO Specialist, Digital Marketeer, Content Management System Specialist etc. The terms are new for us, had to go through a bit of difficulty to understand the meaning but never the less that made it even more exciting.

Previously, having no idea what it is or how beneficial it can be for my near future I never paid much heed to it in the past. My planning was all set. After the end of July (when my course finishes) I would prepare myself for interviews and would try my luck. After that, a peaceful job life… No more assignments, no more home tasks. But as we know, “Man poses God disposes”. Seems like I will have to spend more time  in Arena Animation, Park Street, 3rd floor, Pinocchio lab .

After knowing what digital Marketing is, I won’t mind staying longer. Rather, I would love to. Marketing is the most important part of any business, whether small or big doesn’t matter. Any new invention and only proper marketing can make that invention famous or useful for general citizens, any new product launch needs marketing, and I can keep giving such examples where we need marketing. In the recent days things are turning digital, whether it is Aadhar Card, Ration Card, college application forms or bank works. Internet has given us a comfort zone and decreased our efforts more than 50%. I won’t be wrong if I say that more than 70% of people around the world are dependent on internet. And thus, there came a turning point in the methodology of marketing. That is turning digital too. It gives better scope to the business to interact with the right audience in the right time and location making the whole system more efficient.

I remember after the seminar when all of us exclaimed that the session was really interesting and helped us learn a lot , Ramesh Ruia Sir said, “This was nothing, this was just the tip of the iceberg”. It hit my mind hard and forced me to think “Then how will it feel like to actually explore the iceberg?” And I made up my mind to go for it and give it a try. Yes problems came up. But I knew that if I invest now I will get the return for the rest of my life. Good things aren’t easy to achieve, thus giving me the motivation to stick to my decision and get past those hindrance on my way.

Though the classes haven’t started yet, the fact that soon we will be landing on the iceberg is enough to bring a smile of excitement.

Well.. Digital Marketing is the new hot gossip or point of discussion or point of attraction, whatever you want to call it. I have tightened the seat belt and prepared myself for the ride.. Because my friend…

The Show is about to begin…
