The Idea Of Waiting For Something Makes it More Fascinating

Munmun Manna, our Ex Students shares the surprise that she received at the workplace today!

Hello everyone. I, Munmun Manna want to share the surprise, which I received today, with all of you.

Last year, on 18th June, I joined the best institute of India i.e. Arena Animation Park Street for the GWDD (Graphics, Web Designing & Development) course. There I have got the BEST guru of my life i.e. our Respected Somnath Sir. My family, Sir and my friends have always inspired me a lot. Earlier, I had a very negative kind of approach, but today I am totally a different person.

On 10th June, 2015 (a little less than a year after I joined APS), I was appointed as a Web Designer & Front-end Developer at Innovitas IT Services.

For students, having a job is a way of making money, just a way of having extra cash for movies or clothes.  It makes one feel independent. Personally, it made me feel sort of like an adult. It taught me how to be responsible and to handle my finances. I had to learn how to interact with my co-workers, work with different types of people, how to handle the clients, and also learn punctuality. In a way, it was almost like I had learned real life skills in under 6 months. It will always be a big part of me maturing and becoming a young adult.

Today I was very tensed since morning. I remember walking in nervously and taking a seat. I glanced around and saw my expression was mirrored in my co-workers’ faces. Our supervisor welcomed me warmly and even gave out snacks. Then I got the biggest surprise when Sir told me that from now onwards I will be the team-leader of our company. Sir clearly explained what they expected and walked us through the steps. I remember leaving with a smile on a face, happy that I landed my dream job.

All in all, my job has taught me many beneficial things. To always have an open mind and be willing to work in any type of work environment. To be willing to adapt to fit in a new work place; and to always be respectful and kind to not only my future supervisors, but my co-workers as well. What I have learned in the span of less than six months will always be a big part of me growing up. I’m looking forward to taking what I’ve learned and applying it. I really don’t know where I would be if I didn’t take this job opportunity because without it, I would have never learned what I have.
